Jeremy Polk was a police officer in the Gotham City Police Department. After the Joker threatened to blow up a hospital, James Gordon ordered all hospitals evacuated, and Polk along with Davis helped evacuate Gotham General Hospital. Matilda, a nurse at the hospital, asked for their help moving someone, and Davis assisted her while Polk went outside to find a bus for Harvey Dent. He found one, and radioed Davis to bring Dent out, but Davis was unresponsive. Polk went back into the hospital to find him, but instead found a nurse in Dent's room. He told the nurse to leave, but it turned out to be the Joker in disguise, who shot Polk and killed him.
