French soldier (the name is unknown) is one of the important characters in Dunkirk.
History[]
French soldier first appears in the beginning of the movie, when he makes a grave for his friend in sand. Tommy sees him, and helps. After that, he and Tommy are shown together most of film, without saying a word. When some soldiers, including Tommy and French soldier are in a ship, waiting for influx, one british soldier says that French soldier is german, because he didn't speak English. When he tried to speak, people finnaly get known that he is french. When water pours into the holes in the ship, French soldier clings to the chain and drowns.
