Selina Kyle, also known as the Catwoman, is the Deuteragonist of The Dark Knight Rises.
Biography[]
Selina Kyle was born on September 21, 1985. Her mother once warned her about getting into cars with strange men. She escaped from a women's correctional facility for the first time when she was only 16. She and her friend Jen began to live together in a modest walk-up apartment in Old Town, Gotham City. Selina was hired by corrupt businessman John Daggett to steal Bruce Wayne's fingerprints (along with his mother's pearl necklace) in exchange for him expunging her criminal record with a "clean slate" computer program, but she was deceived and betrayed and the fingerprints were used to attack Gotham City's stock exchange and bankrupt Wayne.She later led the Batman to Bane's trap, where she learned that he was Bruce Wayne. She witnessed Bane defeat the Batman and break his back. Before Selina could flee Gotham, she was arrested by John Blake for kidnapping congressman Byron Gilley and taken to a male person Blackgate Prison to await trial. Selina was released when Bane took control of Gotham. Five months later, she reunited with Wayne and was offered the clean slate once more. She aided him in liberating the city from Bane's rule. During the final battle for Gotham, she shot and killed Bane with the Batpod's grenade launcher and helped Batman destroy Talia al Ghul's convoy. Selina was given back the pearl necklace by Bruce and the two settled down in Florence.
Abilities[]
- Peak Human Condition: Selina is in peak physical condition due to her experiences. Her file described her as "surprisingly strong and agile," and she also possesses a high level of flexibility, as she was able to pin John Daggett's arm to the wall with a raised leg. She moves with the speed and agility of her feline namesake.
- Master Thief: Selina is a world-class cat burglar and mistress of disguise. Her string of heists had been notable for their daring and execution. Bruce Wayne described her as "a master jewel thief." She impersonated a maid and wore someone else's fingerprints when she stole Martha Wayne's pearl necklace, used an untraceable mix of printer toner and graphite to pull Bruce's fingerprints off his safe, proving Wayne Manor was not burglar-proof. She also stole a woman's diamonds while the latter was in Ibiza. In addition to stealing, Selina is also a very good escapologist, as she first escaped from prison when she was only 16.
- Expert Acrobat: Selina's moves are worthy of an Olympic gymnast, possessing feline grace and dexterity. She is very lithe and flexible.
- Expert Martial Artist: Selina knows karate. was able to fight against Bane's mercenaries, who were noted by Batman to be trained killers. She used her greater agility and flexibility to her advantage in her fighting style. She also defeated two fully grown men who were chasing a kid, and knows how to wield a knife.
- Skilled Markswoman: Selina is proficient with firearms, particularly pistols. She used Stryver's pistol to kill two people in a bar, and she also used the Batpod's grenade launcher to shoot and kill Bane.
- Skilled Physician: Selina advised a congressman to keep pressure on his gunshot wound
- Stealth: As a cat burglar, Selina is well-versed in stealth. She was able to vanish from Batman in a similar manner to how he disappeared from his conversations with James Gordon.
Equipment[]
- ČZ 75: Selina disarmed Phillip Stryver of his pistol and kept it for herself as her sidearm. She threatened to shoot John Daggett in the head with the pistol.
- Beretta 92FS: Selina held another pistol while fighting mercenaries on the rooftop with the Batman.
- Glock 17: While fighting one of Bane's mercenaries, she forced him to use his own suppressed pistol to shoot and kill another mercenary.

Trivia[]
- Selina Kyle is never referred to as Catwoman, instead being referred to only by her name, although she is referred to as "The Cat" in a newspaper. Bruce Wayne calls her a cat burglar, and Selina asks Daggett if a cat has his tongue as she pins him against a wall. Catwoman is only used in the film's novelization and merchandise.
